"For the LORD had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us. Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life." - 2 Kings 7:6-7 Read (2 Kings 19: 6-7, 34-37)
"For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief." - Hebrews 3:16-19 (NKJV)
Unbelief is always that very hinders between a person and the blessings of God. Unbelief to some is like a sickness that needs to be cured.
"Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted." - 1 Corinthians 10:6 (NKJV)
"All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify. Let no one seek his own, but each one the other's well-being." - 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 (NKJV)
"And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom. Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:" - Esther 7:2-3
"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." - Matthew 5: 8 "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:" - Psalm 66:18 "Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven." - Matthew 18:21-22
“And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” - Matthew 6:5-6
It is important to have personal, quiet communion with God. It helps personal devotion and consecration. Christ lived like that for us to follow.
