Identity

Definition:

The state of being absolute sameness. It can also be the state of establishing who you are.  - Oxford American Dictionary.

Hebrews 12:2 - Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 John 3:2 - Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

• Are you identified with Christ Jesus?
• Can the World see Christ Jesus in you?
• Is your thought identify with Christ?
• How did you see yourself?
  • as a failure or as a conqueror
• Did you represent Christ in your behavior?

This is what your identity should be in Christ Jesus:

• Born again
  • John 3:3- Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
• See yourself as a new creation - 2 Corinthians 5:17
• The Son of God
  • 1 John 3:1 - Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
• We have the same Spirit of God.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:13 - We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
  • Colossians 1:27- To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Overview:

We have to be more positive in our confessions in life; the way we talk should represent Jesus. People tend identity with Jesus on Sundays, and every other days of the week they identify with World. These kinds of people change their identity now and then. This indicates they have not accepted Jesus Christ into their life as their Savior.
